Our Story...

Early mornings would find Richard Zobrist delivering fresh produce to the hotels and grocery stores on his truck route for E&H Distributing Company. It was 1965 and the company had been owned by his father Ernie and uncle Herman for the last decade. As the years progressed, E&H Distributing Company changed to Valley Foods and Richard and some of his relatives bought the company before it was purchased by US Foods, a national distributor. On Thanksgiving morning in 1984, Richard received a frantic call from Dave at El Cortez saying they were out of yams! Richard and his son piled a truckload of yams into the back of their car and hand-delivered it to the cooks at El Cortez. Our dedication and service to the customer is unchanged: the customer always comes first.

What started with early morning deliveries and last-minute Thanksgiving orders has blossomed into Vida Meat Company where WE COOK THE MEAT & YOU TAKE THE CREDIT. We use a French Gourmet method to slow-cook our meat proteins to an exact temperature for a specific number of hours. When our work is complete, you’ll get a rich, flavorful, perfectly-cooked rack of Baby Back Ribs safe in your refrigerator for you and your family to enjoy. We bring fine cuisine to your kitchen.
